24 Weeks

We have hit the 24 week mark and all is wonderful. I think we have determined a name for our little boy...Harper Weston Kothe. Harper is a very very active little boy- just like his dad- when he gets wound up he doesn't stop moving. But that is the best to feel him moving around and kicking inside. He has started enjoying his new past time of kicking me in the bladder and sending me back to the bathroom moments after I've already been...such a good child. :) Dustin was able to feel him kick finally last night. That was extremely special!

Yesterday I had my check up and all went well. The nurse agreed he is very active and was feeling him kicking and moving during the doppler. The doctor commented that he was measuring great and he wasn't looking to be a small baby boy (not that we ever expected otherwise). With two six footers as parents we are hoping for a tall athlete!

The crib is in and put together in Harper's room. It's not completey done with bedding but hopefully I can get my camera in there to get some early pictures. Other than that, all is great and the Kothe family is looking forward to a joyous holiday season! With my new job in Kerrville, it has been a little bit easier to get the house prepared for the season, but the shopping is now being done on weekends instead of after work on the way home. Ah the give and take of changing jobs. But I am enjoying being close to my home and my family (even if I do miss my girls in CR!).

And on one more note, Harper's friend, Davis Knecht is due to arrive early next week and we can hardly wait. Prayers are going out to the Knecht and Peden families for a safe delivery of a very healthy baby boy!!

Happy Holidays!

It's a BOY!!!

Yesterday was the big day and we found out we are going to have a little boy come April. Dustin was so incredibly excited, I don't think he quit walking on air all night. We are very excited now to be able to start buying things and purchasing blue items! And in the matter of minutes our little Dozer (we're thinking Dalton for the first name) became a teammate to Davis (Sam's soon to be little boy) and a body guard for Jorey and Hayden (the projected names for Stacey and Becky's soon to be little girls). We can hardly wait!!

The doctor said all looked great- he was not shy at all about showing us anything. There were 10 fingers and 10 toes and all else looked good. He weighed almost a full pound and apparently was enjoying kicking the umbilical cord (Dustin's never been good at being still either). Below are some of the pictures from the sonogram. Although it isn't quite as clear as past ones have been, my absolute favorite is the one of the little foot. SOOOO cute!! Now I just can't wait to hold my little baby boy...

15 weeks!

Yesterday I went in a few days early for my next appointment due my nagging allergies. I didn't get to see my little one but all seemed well and the heartbeat has slowed down to 151 beats per minute. They said my uterus is right where it needs to be...but with my height, I'm not even showing really. If I eat a big meal it pooches a little but that's been true my whole life! :) I did lose weight again but they weren't concerned as I told them I've been eating a lot (especially the last 2 weeks!). And as I pointed out, if I was trying to lose weight, I would just gain it...that's the story of my life!! But all is going great if I can get over this sinus infection. We go back in 5 weeks to find out the sex...and I can't wait!!

A BIG Announcement!!

Announcing Baby Kothe (affectionately known to the family as Dozer)! I am currently 13 weeks pregnant and feeling absolutely fabulous. Haven't been sick but really been enjoying every day. At this point, we still have a due date of April 1, 2010. We figure that is perfect for an April Fool's Day baby...it just fits with Dustin! :) All in all, we are absolutely ecstatic as is the rest of the family. The two babies of the families are finally having a baby! Below is the first picture at 7 weeks and 5 days and then above is a picture at 11 weeks and 5 days. It was the most fantastic thing in the world to hear the heartbeat for the first time and see my incredibly active baby...words can't even describe it. Now just a month and a half until we find out if little Dozer is a boy or a girl...we can't wait!!

If it's too loud, you're too old...

I definitely found out the old saying might just be true!

Last night my mom and I took Weslyn and Kaileigh to the Jonas Brothers concert at the AT&T Center. It was their first real concert to attend. I quickly decided that I'm too old for the boy band stuff and that things have really changed since I was a young girl. Back in the day we loved a little NKOTB and every one had shirts and buttons and hats (the list could go on forever). But the crowd last night was quite different. I think some of these little girls forgot they were still little girls! And I wasn't nearly as entertained- it was so loud you couldn't understand the words. And after coming from the days of boy bands that can dance, this was a bad excuse for jumping around. I'm not cutting down the groups that performed- I just think I was quite surprised by the changes in entertainment!

All in all, I'm glad the girls got the opportunity and I got to share the experience with them. The thank you's and hugs and kisses were totally worth being deaf the rest of the night. The picture above is Weslyn and Kaileigh posing before the concert began.

Port Aransas Vacation 2009

For the last week Dustin and I joined my entire family at the beach for our annual trip. It was absolutely beautiful!! This was probably the best I have ever seen the Texas coast. No seaweed, clean beaches, and beautiful sky! We had a fabulous time playing in the waves with all of the kids and catching some rays on the beach. I burned my face a bit on Saturday and had to spend most of Sunday inside. Both nights were spend in the pool and playing Mexican train dominoes. We made our annual pilgrimage to Crazy Cajun for dinner Monday night. It was hard to go home on Tuesday, but here we are back in reality. Now back to work until our next trip back to the lake later in August!

Happy 4th of July!

It was an incredibly hot, long weekend spent enjoying family and friends. Friday was a day off from work with Mom and I taking the girls to get pedicures and then lunch. A little shopping with Stacey and then cooking out and staying at my parent's house rounded out the day. Saturday we packed our stuff and headed to Fredericksburg to watch the horse races with Stacey and Justin. We followed that up by going to the ranch for a cookout and fireworks with my family and Dustin's. Sunday was recovering and cleaning (new carpet comes today!) then going to the movies with my mom. It was a great weekend. Now we look forward to Thursday evening when we head to Port Aransas with my family for a beach vacation! Happy 4th of July!!

A Weekend Together

This weekend was an amazing weekend spent with my favorite person- my fabulous husband! Dustin and I spent quality time together Friday night then got to sleep in a little on Saturday. After we got moving, we headed to San Antonio for lunch, carpet shopping, and boat shopping. Yes, we are finally going to get new carpet for our rooms and yes, we want to trade our boat in and start over. After being on Dad's new boat, I realized I was indeed spoiled and wanted something new. :) The evening ended with dinner at the Burow's and more time together watching tv and trying to fix our A/C...long story but we got it fixed! Sunday we did Father's Day brunch with my parents and dinner with his family. This weekend just proved what a lucky woman I am to have found a caring husband and a best friend as great as Dustin. He made a weekend of unlucky news into a memorable fun weekend together. I love you babe!

Dinner with Stacey!

Stacey and I finally got to catch up last night over dinner. We met at my house and went to eat at Guenther's in Comfort. It was so great to tell all the gossip we know and talk and laugh about it all. It's been forever since we've gotten to hang out just the two of us. Hopefully things will settle down and we can start doing this more regularly. It's a nice break from those boys of ours.

This picture is from Dustin's birthday party a couple of years ago, I just thought everyone should be able to see our smiling faces! :)

A Weekend at the Lake

Thursday through Sunday was spent at Lake Buchanan with mine & Dustin's families. It was so incredibly hot but fabulous weather during the day for boating. Thursday and Friday nights brought some storms with high wind, hail, and rain (and tornadoes in the area!). I got a great tan and had fun with all. Dustin and I had a little trouble with our boat on Saturday- let's just say there was some paddling to shore and walking back to the cabins involved. Note to self: always make sure you have a cell phone! Had a good weekend overall but glad to be back at home in my own bed. Now my body just has to recover and let the bruises heal. Next trip up for us: the beach with my family in July!

Getting Started

In an effort to share more photos and happenings, I am trying to keep up with the times and started my own blog. Thanks to Sam for the inspiration. Now we just hope we have as much good news to announce as they do!

For now, our small town is slipping quietly into summer and we are enjoying it. Tomorrow we leave for the Kothe vacation at the lake. Quite excited as my parents are joining this year with their brand new boat- so exciting!
