A Fabulous Saturday

Today has been a great day!  We started off the morning at 7:30 a.m. as Harper does most mornings.  I made coffee while Dustin and Harper watched cartoons in bed.  They were so cute I couldn't resist snagging a picture.
After we got up and moving, we went to Kerrville and ended up meeting Nannie and Papa for breakfast at Save Inn (also known at Papa's Eatin' Place as coined by Dackota many years ago).  Then we bought corn and went to the ranch to fill the feeder.  Below is Dustin and Harper before heading out from the house and then Dustin filling his feeder.  Harper loved being outside- he just can't take things in fast enough.  He even got to see two twin fawns back by our blind!  And Harper really liked riding on Mommy's lap while Daddy drives the Mule.

On the way back to the house we couldn't resist taking a picture with the windmill in the background...my two little country boys!  I love this picture!!

And right before we left we headed up the hill and fed the cows (and Cinderella the goat and her two babies).  Harper loved looking at the cows and goats- he wasn't scared at all!
All in all it was a great day.  We had so much fun being out there riding around just the three of us. So much fun we are considering repeating tomorrow and including a trip down to the creek to splash around!

Hello Ms. Linda! First Day of Daycare

Mommy is still having trouble accepting the fact Harper is at daycare and not crying about it even while I sit and type this post.  Harper will go today and Thursday this week just to get a feel for it and see how he does.  I'm worried after he wouldn't take a bottle from my mom yesterday and I got two calls to get there NOW and feed him because he had resisted so long he was screaming and not settling down at all.  So you know, that really helped the fact I was sending him off today.  Next week starts full time as he turns 4 months old on Sunday.  The picture above was us this morning before leaving the house- such a big day (for Harper and for Mommy!)!!

In all honesty, Ms. Linda is fabulous and he really did seem to take to her already this morning.  She held him laying down at one point and he gave her a taste of his temper, so she got trained on that quickly before I even left.  There were only 2 other little ones there (a 1.5 year old and a 2 year old) today.  The 1.5 year old boy will not be coming back after this week and then it will be a 2 year old girl, a 1 year old girl, Harper and another 4 month old little boy named Gunnar.  So all in all, it's a great situation, I just worry about my baby. Here is the playroom- Linda is holding Harper and that is Kyle, the little boy who is leaving.

Mom went with me to give moral support (and Dackota since he had to spend the night with me last night as mom was at the hospital with my grandmother all night).  I won't lie, I did fabulous and acted very adult and in control inside but as soon as I walked out, I did cry (and yes Dustin will make fun of me for that for the rest of my life I'm sure :) ).  Here's hoping to a good day.  I will post tomorrow and update on how everything went.

And here is Harper at breakfast before going to Linda's- can you tell he was just so worried??  He slept through me taking Dackota out to breakfast! I just had to post because he looked so sweet and peaceful sleeping.

Fun times with Nannie and Dackota!

Harper is currently staying with my mom until next month when he will start day care.  They have so much fun playing together and hanging out.  He has got where he is better at going with her up to school so she can work on and off.  Dackota is the best baby sitter as he takes Harper out on the playground in between naps and eating to look at the trees and "play".  Harper loves it and really loves Dackota.  He will just sit there and smile at him and talk to him.  I am so happy they can have that relationship as Kota is about the same age I was when he was a baby.  It's a bond that you can't break- not to mention an education for the teenager!

Here is a picture of Kota and Harper on the slide the other day at St. Peter's while Nannie worked.  I just love them- they are my two boys!!
And here is another one from today.  I went up to St. Peter's to feed Harper (it's only 2 blocks from work) and I walk in to find Harper sitting on Nannie's desk in Kota's hat just talking and smiling.  He is so darn cute and I love the kid so much! I definitely think he loves spending the time with Nannie and Kota (even if I do miss him terribly during the day)!
