Hello Ms. Linda! First Day of Daycare

Mommy is still having trouble accepting the fact Harper is at daycare and not crying about it even while I sit and type this post.  Harper will go today and Thursday this week just to get a feel for it and see how he does.  I'm worried after he wouldn't take a bottle from my mom yesterday and I got two calls to get there NOW and feed him because he had resisted so long he was screaming and not settling down at all.  So you know, that really helped the fact I was sending him off today.  Next week starts full time as he turns 4 months old on Sunday.  The picture above was us this morning before leaving the house- such a big day (for Harper and for Mommy!)!!

In all honesty, Ms. Linda is fabulous and he really did seem to take to her already this morning.  She held him laying down at one point and he gave her a taste of his temper, so she got trained on that quickly before I even left.  There were only 2 other little ones there (a 1.5 year old and a 2 year old) today.  The 1.5 year old boy will not be coming back after this week and then it will be a 2 year old girl, a 1 year old girl, Harper and another 4 month old little boy named Gunnar.  So all in all, it's a great situation, I just worry about my baby. Here is the playroom- Linda is holding Harper and that is Kyle, the little boy who is leaving.

Mom went with me to give moral support (and Dackota since he had to spend the night with me last night as mom was at the hospital with my grandmother all night).  I won't lie, I did fabulous and acted very adult and in control inside but as soon as I walked out, I did cry (and yes Dustin will make fun of me for that for the rest of my life I'm sure :) ).  Here's hoping to a good day.  I will post tomorrow and update on how everything went.

And here is Harper at breakfast before going to Linda's- can you tell he was just so worried??  He slept through me taking Dackota out to breakfast! I just had to post because he looked so sweet and peaceful sleeping.

Fun times with Nannie and Dackota!

Harper is currently staying with my mom until next month when he will start day care.  They have so much fun playing together and hanging out.  He has got where he is better at going with her up to school so she can work on and off.  Dackota is the best baby sitter as he takes Harper out on the playground in between naps and eating to look at the trees and "play".  Harper loves it and really loves Dackota.  He will just sit there and smile at him and talk to him.  I am so happy they can have that relationship as Kota is about the same age I was when he was a baby.  It's a bond that you can't break- not to mention an education for the teenager!

Here is a picture of Kota and Harper on the slide the other day at St. Peter's while Nannie worked.  I just love them- they are my two boys!!
And here is another one from today.  I went up to St. Peter's to feed Harper (it's only 2 blocks from work) and I walk in to find Harper sitting on Nannie's desk in Kota's hat just talking and smiling.  He is so darn cute and I love the kid so much! I definitely think he loves spending the time with Nannie and Kota (even if I do miss him terribly during the day)!

Harper at 3 months!

Harper is almost 3 months old (in 2 days officially).  The day he turned 12 weeks we were in the hospital ER running fever and looking for infections with an elevated white blood cell count...absolutely no fun and completely scary for a first time mommy (or any mommy for that matter).  In all of that we measured and weighed and my baby has grown so much!!

Weight: 14 pound 10 ounces
Height: 25 inches

He is going to be my monster baby but I would expect no less!  I'm just thankful there was no bacterial infection to be found and we are doing fine now.

Soon I'll post pictures from our beach vacation!

More catching up!

This is the proud Papa! Already has him on a "big yellow machine"!  He just couldn't wait, even though Harper was sleeping very soundly at the time.
Here is Harper's naturally curly hair.  This is exactly like Dustin's when it is longer.  If we don't comb it out before it dries after his bath, it stays curly and frizzy like this.  It's so cute and makes him look like a different baby completely!
And here is Harper cuddled up after his bath.  After hating to be naked for the first 2 weeks of his life, he enjoys it and his baths now!
And of course, here is me and my baby.  I love him so much...I wonder how many kisses he gets daily?!? I know he will outgrow that soon so I have to get them in now!

A few of my favorite pictures

Here are a few of my favorite pictures from the first 2 months of Harper's life.  I'm still trying to catch up so hopefully I can get his new pictures soon!

So much has happened...

I've been rather lazy on the posting since the arrival of my sweet boy. Today I will post quickly and let you all know on April 1, 2010 at 12:52 p.m. Harper Weston Kothe was born. He was 20 1/4 inches and 7 pounds and 10 ounces. He was born with tons of dark hair and the most precious thing in the world. Since then we lived two months and learned so much from him. Here are a few pictures from his arrival and other select ones. He is my greatest accomplishment and I never knew I could love someone this much!!

I promise to update more and post more pictures soon!

2 Days!!

In two days I will finally be meeting my baby boy Harper! We go to the hospital tomorrow night to start induction process. By Thursday morning we will know if we continue with the induction or have a C-section. Either way, Harper will be here Thursday, April 1st. He's such an on time boy...waiting for his official due date! We are so excited and can't wait to meet him. I'll post pictures once I get home from the hospital. And we already have his newborn portraits scheduled so those will follow soon! 2010 will be the best April Fool's Day ever!
